FUDO Ultra Ocean Kona Cut Needle Eye Hooks take the excellent performance of our Super Ocean Kona Cut and pack it into a stouter version. All sizes (9/0-11/0) use our 12/0 Super Ocean wire material. While the hook itself is very robust, the tip is still sharp.
The Ultra Ocean Kona Cut, as often is the case, was born based on feedback from top captains and crew. Capt. Bryan Toney of the SNAFU in Kona, Hawaii requested such a hook for his style of fishing (affectionately referred to on social media as the ‘BT Special’). We personally delivered the samples to him at the dock. After fishing the Ultra Ocean Kona Cuts on the SNAFU for the past 3 months, the results have been excellent. Based on a few requests from others for a hook with more backbone, we decided to produce a limited run.
